Box Score SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A second half surge from Indiana University South Bend men's basketball team gave the Titans a 74-66 victory over crosstown rival Holy Cross College in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, Saturday, Jan. 4, inside the Student Activities Center. Junior Norell Smith led all Titans with 13 points, shooting 5-of-8 from the floor that was highlighted by 3-of-4 from three as IUSB earned its fourth straight victory to improve to 12-5 overall and 6-3 in league play.

Holy Cross held a 33-31 advantage at halftime before the Titans scored 43 in the second half while holding the Saints to 33 points. The Titans led by as many as 10 late in the game, with a scoring run of eight straight points being the deciding factor.
Two other Titans joined Smith in double figures as senior Myles Simmons scored 11 off the bench while senior counterpart Kourtlandt Martin added 10. Smith and Donyell Meredith II tied for a game-high six rebounds while Martin led the way with four of the team's 11 total assists.
Indiana University South Bend dominated off turnovers, registering 20 points off 22 Holy Cross turnovers. IUSB finished the game 27-of-66 from the field and 8-of-18 from distance. Holy Cross connected on 23 field goals off 47 attempts for a 48.9 percent shooting clip. HCC knocked down 12-of-14 free throw attempts, while hitting 8-of-20 from behind the arc.
The men's basketball team hits the road for its first of two straight games in unfamiliar territory, travelling to Governors State on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Tip in University Park, Ill. is scheduled for 8 p.m. (EST).
