Athletic Training at Indiana University South Bend:
Athletic training is an essential allied health profession focused on supporting the health, safety, and performance of physically active individuals. Athletic trainers are specifically educated in the prevention of athletic injuries and the recognition, evaluation, and assessment of athletic injuries.They play a vital role in providing emergency care when injuries occur, evaluating and overseeing, comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation to ensure a safe and effective patient outcome and return to activity. At Indiana University South Bend, the athletic training staff's mission is to provide the best possible, patient-centered care to the student-athletes at Indiana University South Bend.

About the Indiana University Athletic Training Facility:
The athletic training facility is located in the lower level of the student activities center (SAC) in room 023.  The athletic training facility is furnished with treatment tables, taping stations, two whirlpools, combo units, cryo-compressive units, and a variety of rehabilitation equipment.
 
Visiting Team Information:
The Indiana University South Bend Athletic Training Facility is located in Room 023 on the lower level of the Student Activities Center (SAC). Our athletic training staff is dedicated to supporting the health and safety of all student-athletes and provides the following services for visiting teams:
  • A Certified Athletic Trainer will be on-site for all home athletic contests.
  • Hydration and injury ice will be available during competition.
  • The athletic training facility will be open before and after events for a limited time; additional access may be arranged upon request.
Modalities available include cryotherapy, thermotherapy, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound.
If your team is not traveling with a Certified Athletic Trainer, please provide written instructions for any modality treatments and notify our staff in advance.
 
Visiting teams are encouraged to bring any additional supplies they may require, including a fully stocked medical kit. Please contact our athletic training staff ahead of time with any special instructions or requests if your team will not be traveling with a Certified Athletic Trainer.
