CROWN POINT, Ind. – A pair of first-half goals in quick succession was too much to overcome, as IU South Bend fell on the road on Saturday night to IU Northwest, 3-0.
Rebekkaha Guess nearly gave the Titans (1-13, 1-10 CCAC) an early lead with a shot on goal in the 27th minute, but was unable to find the back of the net. The Redhawks (2-13, 1-10 CCAC) took the lead in the 36th minute, then added another goal in the 38th, quickly taking a 2-0 lead and carrying it into the halftime break.
The home side put away their third goal in the 65th minute, while holding IU South Bend to just one shot on goal in the second half. Marissa Million's attempt late in the match was stopped by the Redhawk goalkeeper to secure the shutout.
Goalkeeper Kaitlin Paul finished with 10 saves on the night, facing 28 shots overall throughout the match.
The Titans wrap up their final road trip of the season next Tueday, October 26, when they travel to Trinity Christian. Kickoff against the Trolls is set for 4:00 p.m. ET.
