LINCOLN, Ill. – The 15th-seeded Indiana University South Bend men's basketball team kept its unforgettable season alive with a thrilling 62-59 win at No. 7 Lincoln College in the quarterfinals of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Thursday night, Feb. 25. The Titans, who trailed by as many as 11, outscored the Lynx by six in the second half to improve to 4-0 this season.

The 2020 CCAC Champions earned a semifinal matchup with Indiana University foe and 11-seed IU Northwest Saturday, Feb. 27. Time is still to be determined while the loss handed Lincoln the end of its season at 9-10 overall.

IUSB trimmed the 11-point LC advantage to just four at the break. The Titans evened the score on a Miles Tracy three at 18:40 to set the tone for the second period. Sophomore Micah Poole found senior Sergio Diaz for his third three-pointer of the game to give IUSB its largest lead of the game, 57-53, with 3:36 left to play.

Lincoln clawed its way back into the game with a 6-3 run to trim the Titans lead to one with just eight seconds to play before a pair of clutch free throws by senior Dylan Allen advanced IU South Bend to the CCAC semifinals. Allen currently ranks fifth amongst all NAIA men's basketball players in free throw percentage this season at 92.9 percent.

Allen led Indiana University South Bend with 16 points, followed by Tracy with 14 and Diaz with 10. Junior Donyell Meredith II grabbed a team-high five rebounds with four other Titans grabbing four apiece.

Tracy and Allen led the Titans with three assists while Tracy also notched two steals.

As a team IUSB knocked down just five three-pointers on 19 attempts, while going 23-for-54 from the field and 11-for-17 at the charity stripe. Lincoln finished 21-for-49 from the field and went just 6-for-21 from three-point range. The Lynx held a 37-29 advantage on the glass while both teams grabbed seven steals. The Titans forced 20 turnovers, cashing them in for 19 points, and committed 15 of their own.

IU South Bend looks to advance to the CCAC Tournament Championship for the third time under head coach Scott Cooper when it squares off with seventh-seeded IU Northwest Saturday, Feb. 27. Tipoff to be announced later.
