MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Indiana University South Bend softball extended its winning streak to five games after sweeping Friday's, March 26, twin bill at Bethel University after coming from behind in game one and winning 15-8 in the night cap. The Titans improve to 7-9 overall with the results.

Game One: IUSB 9, Bethel 5
IU South Bend scored three runs on three hits in the opening inning to take a 3-2 lead heading into the fifth. Senior
Becca Stevens received the starting nod and pitched 4.0 innings. The Mooresville, Ind. native allowed two runs off five hits and struck out seven batters for the second consecutive game.
The Pilots responded with two runs in the bottom of the fifth two take a one-run advantage before IUSB's offense exploded in the sixth with six runs off three hits and three BU errors to help seal the come-from-behind victory.

Savanna Schmitz went 3-4 at the plate.
Nichole VanZant pitched the final three innings allowing three runs, striking out five Bethel players. The freshman was credited with her third win of the season, improving to 3-2 overall.
Game Two: IUSB 15, Bethel 8
The Titan offense continued its hot streak, shattering a season-high 15 runs off a season-high 17 hits in Friday's night cap. Six different IU South Bend players knocked multi-hit games, including
Brittany VanderBrink (3-for-4), Baker (3-for-4),
Haylie Williamson (2-for-4),
Mackenzie Myars (2-for-4),
Emily Anglin (2-for-3), and
Olivia Zarantonello (2-for-4). Myars hit her fifth bomb of the season while Zarantonello collected her first career home run.
Both the Titans and Pilots added four runs each in the first before BU double its run total with four in the second, taking the 8-4 lead heading into the third. IUSB sealed its fifth straight victory by added three runs in the third, five in the fourth and three in the fifth frame.
In the circle, freshman
Macie Couch sealed her second consecutive victory. The Cloverdale, Ind. native tossed the final 3.1 innings in relief for senior
Aly Brickel. Couch allowed just one Pilot to reach base off a hit by pitch after facing 11 batters.
The Titans return to action tomorrow Saturday, March 27 as they welcome Judson for the first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic action of the season. First pitch of game one the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Dick Pfeil Field.
