FORT WAYNE, Ind. - IU South Bend Soccer closed out the non-conference portion of their season on Saturday, as the Titans fell on the road to Saint Francis (Ind.), 2-0.
A goal late in the first half gave the home team the lead for good, as the Cougars (2-2-1) out-shot IUSB 14-1 but fired just six shots on goal throughout the match.
Kaitlin Paul made four saves for the Titans (0-3) during her ninety minutes in goal.
The home side added another goal in the 49th minute; later in the second half, the Titans had a chance to respond with
Rachel Villa's shot in the 77th minute, but the attempt sailed wide of the goal.
The Titans open CCAC play next week, as they continue their three-match road trip with a visit to St. Ambrose. Kickoff with the Bees from Davenport, Iowa is set for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11.
