CROWN POINT, Ind. – The Titans struck first, but a total of just three hits meant the IU South Bend offense would struggle, as IUSB fell to Olivet Nazarene 10-1 in six innings during an elimination game at the CCAC Softball Tournament on Sunday afternoon.
The Titans (21-25) posted the first run of the day in the top of 3rd, after Haley Fair reached on an error and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Emily Cave drove in Fair with a single to left, scoring Fair for a 1-0 IUSB lead.
Olivet Nazarene (31-12-1) responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning, then added another in the bottom of the 4th. Four more in the 5th and three in the 6th would end the game early on run rule.
Maddie Leisher and Shelby Baker each recorded singles on the day, while the Titan defense struggled throughout, committing a season-high six errors.
