IU South Bend defeats Rio Grande in 1-3 weekend

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (1-6, 0-0 CCAC) split a of doubleheader on Saturday and loss both games on Sunday to finish the Bear Creek Tournament 1-3.

In day one, IU South Bend dropped the first game of the Bear Creek tournament to #24 University of the Cumberlands by a score of 3-0. The Titans bounced back in game two with a 12-10 victory over the University of Rio Grande. 

IU South Bend opened day two with a 5-4 loss to Clearly University before dropping the final contest of the weekend 8-1 to University of the Cumberlands. 

Game 1

The IU South Bend offense was shutout in game one, collecting just two hits as a team in route to the 3-0 loss. 

Game 2

Abigail Yarnell earned her first win of the season in the back half of the twin bill, pitching three and one thirds innings while allowing just three hits and zero earned runs.

The offense came to life in game two as five different Titans had multi-hit games. 

IU South Bend was led by Haley Fair, Jozie Ramer, and Jordan Watts who each had at least two hits and drove in multiple runs in the 12-10 victory.

Game 3 

The IU South Bend offense scraped together three hits in game three, scoring three of their four runs unearned in the 5-4 loss. 

Game 4

Kaitlynne Allen and Maddy Edwards each had two hits for the Titans in game four, with Edwards driving in the only IU South Bend run in the 8-1 loss. 

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Saturday, March 4th, when they travel to Owensboro, KY., for a doubleheader against Brescia University.
