LAKEVILLE, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (9-20, 2-6 CCAC) split a doubleheader with the Judson University Eagles (6-12, 3-3 CCAC) losing game one 6-5 before winning game two by a score of 10-0.
Game 1
IU South Bend struck first in game one, plating all five of their runs in the bottom of the second inning.
Back to back RBI singles by
Kaitlynne Allen and
Kaylee Darnell each drove in a run, giving the Titans a 2-0 lead.
An RBI walk by
Hannah Albright and a 2 RBI single by
Abigail Yarnell extended the IU South Bend lead to 5-0 through two innings of play.
Four fifth innings runs by the Eagles brought them within one run of tying the game before two more runs in the sixth gave Judson a 6-5 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth.
The Titans failed to score in the sixth and seventh and ultimately lost game one 6-5.
Game 2
IU South Bend struck first again in game two, scoring two runs in the first inning via RBI single by
Abigail Yarnell and a groundout by
Jaela Patton to give the Titans a 2-0 through one inning of play.
Two more Titans crossed the plate in the bottom of the second thanks to an RBI groundout by
Jozie Ramer and an RBI single by
Jordan Watts to give IU South Bend a 4-0 lead.
An RBI double by
Kaitlynne Allen and a Judson error allowed two run Titans to cross the plate in the third, extending their lead to 6-0.
An RBI single by
Danielle Gebhart and a bases clearing 3 RBI double by
Kaitlynne Allen broke the game open for IU South Bend as they would ultimately go on to win game two in five innings by a score of 10-0.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, April 12th, when they host a doubleheader against the Trojans of Trinity International University at 3:00 PM at Newton Park.
