LAKEVILLE, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (12-21, 5-7 CCAC) split a doubleheader against the Olivet Nazarene University Tigers (18-12, 7-3 CCAC) winning game one 7-6 in eight innings before losing in game two 3-2.
Game 1
Olivet Nazarene struck first in game one, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning via error and RBI hit by pitch to take a 2-0 lead.
IU South Bend responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the first when
Hannah Albright's RBI groundout plated
Maddie Leisher to cut their deficit to 2-1.
An RBI double by ONU cleanup hitter Mallory O'Connor extended the Tigers lead to 3-1 through the top of the second.
The Titans tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the third thanks to an RBI double by
Maddie Leisher and an RBI single by
Jozie Ramer.
Olivet Nazarene regained the lead in the fifth inning of game one, plating three runs to take a 6-3 lead.
IU South Bend answered back in the bottom of the fifth when
Jozie Ramer hit a sacrifice fly that plated
Maddie Leisher. An Olivet Nazarene throwing error allowed another run to score on the play, shortening the Titans deficit 6-5.

Jordan Watts RBI single drove in
Taylor Larson to tie the game 6-6 and send game one into extra innings.
Maddie Leisher concluded Friday's game one with a walk off RBI double that scored
Olivia Zarantonello to give IU South Bend a 7-6 victory.
Game 2
Left fielder
Kaitlynne Allen began the scoring in game two with a second inning RBI single that scored
Jaela Patton.
The Titans extended their lead in the bottom of the third when
Jozie Ramer's RBI single plated
Maddie Leisher to make the score 2-0.
An IU South Bend error allowed two runs to score in the top of the fifth, tying game two at 2-2.
The Olivet Nazarene Tigers took the lead in the top of the sixth when left fielder Carissa Bombardie singled to center field to give ONU a 3-2 lead.
The IU South Bend offense was blanked in the sixth and seventh innings, going on to lose game two 3-2.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday April 19th, when they host the Roosevelt University Lakers at 3:00 PM at Dick Pfeil Field.
