SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (14-27, 7-13 CCAC) lost both games of a doubleheader to the Saint Ambrose University Fighting Bees (25-23, 12-8 CCAC) by scores of 5-0 and 11-6.
Game 1
Game one was scoreless through three innings until Saint Ambrose left fielder Cassie Sprout singled in a run in the top of the fourth inning to give the Fighting Bees a 1-0 lead.
Saint Ambrose plated two more runs in the top of the fifth inning when Mackenzie Stiewe and Allison Polly hit back to back RBI doubles to extend the Fighting Bees lead to 3-0.
Two more Fighting Bees crossed the plate in the top of the sixth to cap off the scoring in game one with Saint Ambrose leading 5-0.
The IU South Bend offense recorded six hits in game one, including two hits by designated player
Abigail Yarnell and third baseman
Danielle Gebhart but failed to score and lost the opener of the twin bill by a score of 5-0.
Game 2
Kaylee Darnell drew a RBI walk in the bottom of the second inning that scored
Jaela Patton and got the Titans out to a 1-0 lead in game two.
Saint Ambrose responded with eight runs in the top of the third to give the Fighting Bees an 8-1 lead.
Two more SAU runners scored in the top of the fourth when second baseman Maria Provenzano doubled in two to give the Fighting Bees a 10-1 lead.

Maddie Leisher hit by pitch drove in
Olivia Zarantonello to cut the Titans deficit to 10-2 in the bottom of the fourth.
Down to their last out, shortstop
Kaylee Darnell drew a bases loaded walk to shorten the IU South Bend deficit to 10-3.
Catcher
Maddie Leisher's 2 RBI double scored
Kaitlynne Allen and
Taylor Larson to bring the Titans within striking distance, trailing 10-5 headed into the sixth inning.
Saint Ambrose plated one more in the top of the sixth via suicide squeeze to extend their lead to 11-5.
In the bottom of the seventh, right fielder
Taylor Larson scored on a passed ball to make the score 11-6 in favor of the Fighting Bees.
IU South Bend went scoreless in the remainder of the seventh and dropped game two to Saint Ambrose by a score of 11-6.
