HAMMOND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (8-19, 1-5 CCAC) split a pair of games with the Trinity Christian College Trolls (11-9, 2-4 CCAC) by scores of 11-10 and 10-2.
Game 1
2 RBI doubles from
Jaela Patton and
Jordan Watts began the scoring for IU South Bend giving them a 4-0 lead through the top of the first inning.
An RBI single by
Jozie Ramer extended the Titans lead before a bases clearing 3 RBI double by
Abigail Yarnell grew the Titans lead to 8-0 headed into the bottom of the second.
An RBI groundout by
Maddy Edwards and another 2 RBI double from
Jordan Watts extended the IU South Bend lead to 11-0 going into the bottom of the fourth inning.
10 unanswered runs by Trinity Christian brought them withing one run of tying the game before ultimately falling short, giving the Titans an 11-10 victory in game one.
Game 2
A 2 RBI double by
Abigail Yarnell gave the Titans a 2-0 in the top of the first inning.
The Trolls answered back, scoring one run in the first to cut their deficit to 2-1.
Trinity Christian went on to score three in the second, four in the third, and two more in the fifth to win game two 10-2.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action Tuesday, April 11th, when they host the Judson University Eagles in a doubleheader at 3:00 PM.
