SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (6-6, 3-2 CCAC) dropped their second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference game of the year to the University of Saint Francis Fighting Saints (8-2, 4-1 CCAC) by a final score of 76-63.
Tied at 15-15 nearly halfway through the first quarter IU South Bend and Saint Francis traded baskets to keep the game knotted at 21-21.
The remainder of the first half featured more back and forth action, until the Fighting Saints closed the half on a 5-0 run to take a 35-31 lead headed into the locker room.
Saint Francis began to pull away in the second half at the 9:17 mark when a three point field goal extended their lead to a game high 18 points.
Indiana University South Bend cut the lead to nine with just over five minutes to play thanks to a
Kyle Millender old fashioned three point play.
Unfortunately, that is as close as the Titans would cut the deficit as they would ultimately go on to fall to the Fighting Saints by a final score of 76-63.
A trio of Titans scored in double figures in Friday's game, led by
Jylen Petty who finished with a team high 17 points on just under 50% shooting from the field.
The Next Titan in double figures was
Nick Mullen who finished with finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds, good for his fourth double-double of the season.
The last IU South Bend Titan to score in double figures was
Kyle Millender who finished with 14 points on an efficient 5-7 shooting night while also recording three assists and two rebounds.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Friday, December 20th, when they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to take on the Golden Eagles of Cornerstone University at 1:00 PM ET.
