GARY, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (22-9, 15-5 CCAC) fell to the Indiana University Northwest RedHawks (21-10, 15-5 CCAC) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship by a final score of 88-63.
The Titans fell to an early one point deficit, trailing 14-13 before IU Northwest finished the first half on a 36-9 run to take a 26 point lead into halftime.
Outscoring the RedHawks by one point in the second half, IU South Bend could not recover from the halftime deficit and ultimately fell to IU Northwest by a final score of 88-63.
The Indiana University South Bend offense featured two players to score in double figures, led by senior forward
Dejon Barney who finished with a game high 27 points.
Barney's 27 points came on better than 50% shooting from the field (11-20) while knocking down two three point field goals and hauling in 12 rebounds.
With 12 rebounds in Monday's CCAC Conference Championship, Barney secured his team high 16th double-double of the year.
The other Titan to record double figures in the scoring column was senior guard
Terry Ford who finished with 14 points.
Following his Friday night heroics, Ford's 14 points came on nearly 50% from the field (6-13) while also dishing out two assists and tallying two steals.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans await their postseason fate, which will be determined on Thursday, March 7th, at the NAIA Selection Show which starts at 7:00 PM ET.
