NEW ALBANY, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (3-7, 0-0 CCAC) dropped both games of their doubleheader versus Indiana University Southeast (6-7) falling in game one 8-0 before dropping game two 7-4.
Game 1
The Titans fell in an early 3-0 hole when IU Southeast plated three runs on three hits in the first inning.
The Grenadiers grew their lead by scoring four runs on two hits in the third inning to extend the IU South Bend deficit to 7-0.
One last run in the fifth inning gave IU Southeast an eight run lead, ending the game in five innings with the Titans falling 8-0.
Game 2
IU South Bend jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning thanks to an RBI single from
Maddie Leisher, a fielder's choice from
Summer Johnson, and a walk from
Jade Baker.
The IU Southeast Grenadiers plated four runs on four hits in the third inning to take a 4-3 lead.
Two more IU Southeast runs in the fourth inning grew their lead to 6-3 before Titan first baseman
Summer Johnson crossed the plate on a wild pitch in the top of the fifth inning.
The Grenadiers scratched across one more run in the fifth inning and ultimately went on to win game two 7-4.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, March 6th, when they travel to Huntington University for a doubleheader against the Foresters.
