SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (9-9, 6-4 CCAC) snapped their two game winning streaking by falling to the Indiana University Northwest RedHawks (14-4, 8-2 CCAC) by a final score of 65-59.
A well paced IU South Bend offense started the game by jumping out to a 16-6 lead before the RedHawks quickly shortened their deficit to just three points thanks to a 7-0 run.
Back and forth through the remainder of the first half, IU Northwest closed the halfway with a converted layup in order to give themselves a 30-29 lead heading into halftime.
IU Northwest came out in the second halfway scoring efficiently to grow an eight point lead at 46-38 before the Titans answered with a 10-2 run to tie the game at 48-48.
IUSB led by as much as seven with just over five minutes to play in the game before the RedHawks closed out the game in convincing fashion, scored 15 of the games final 17 points to leave South Bend with a 65-59 victory over the Titans.
A slightly lackluster IU South Bend offense featured two players to score in double figures, led by
Quentez Columbus who finished with 19 points.
19 points marked a season high for the senior guard who did so on an efficient 8-11 shooting display from the field while knocking down both three point field goals that he attempted and also stealing two passes.
The other Titan to score in double figures was freshman Colin Schmidt who finished with 13 points on 3-7 shooting from the field while also collecting four rebounds.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, January 22nd, when they travel to Holy Cross College to take on the Saints at 7:30 PM ET.
