Titans Fall on the Road to Trinity Christian

IUSB clashed with the Trolls on Friday afternoon for match number 11 on the season.

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. --- The Indiana University South Bend women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 road decision to Trinity Christian College on Friday afternoon at the Schaaf Athletic Complex. Despite a determined defensive effort and a strong showing from goalkeeper Rylee Cotton, the Titans were unable to overcome two goals from the Trolls' leading scorer.

Trinity Christian (6-7-1, 4-3-1 CCAC) struck first in the 27th minute when Nerea Genc finished a pass from Grace Wieneke to give the hosts the lead. IU South Bend (2-7-2, 0-4-1 CCAC) battled to keep the deficit at one going into halftime behind several key saves from Cotton, who finished with seven stops on the day.

The Titans continued to press early in the second half, but Trinity Christian doubled its advantage in the 59th minute when Genc converted a penalty kick for her second goal of the match. IU South Bend created a couple of opportunities, including shots on goal from Yulissa Gallegos and Fatima Cervantes, but couldn't find the back of the net.

The Titans will head back to Illinois for their next contest, facing Judson on Wednesday at 2:00 pm.
