Taking the Next Step

MILWAUKEE, Wis. --- The Indiana University South Bend women's soccer team closed out its 2025 campaign in style on Saturday afternoon, earning a 1–0 shutout victory over Mount Mary University.

The win marked the Titans' second shutout of the week and capped off a historic season that saw multiple program records broken — including most wins in a season (4), best overall winning percentage (.250), and best CCAC record (2-8-2) in team history.

Match Summary

IU South Bend (4-11-3, 2-8-2 CCAC) dominated possession from the opening whistle, outshooting Mount Mary 35-7 while limiting the hosts to just two shots on target in each half. Despite a relentless offensive push, the match remained scoreless until the 78th minute.

That's when Katie Coleman delivered the breakthrough, burying a shot off a well-placed pass from Maddie Stark to put the Titans ahead 1-0. The defense held firm the rest of the way, with goalkeeper Rylee Cotton and the back line combining to secure the clean sheet — IU South Bend's second on the week.

Team Notes

Coleman's second-half goal was her fifth of the season and fourth of the week and stood as the game-winner.

Stark picked up the assist — her first of the year.

IU South Bend fired 35 total shots (22 on-goal), while holding Mount Mary to just seven shots (four on-goal).

Cotton made four saves to post the shutout.

The Titans wrapped up the 2025 campaign on Saturday, capping the year with a victory.
