Historic 2026 Season Comes to a Close in CCAC Tournament

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. --- A historic season for the Indiana University South Bend women's soccer program came to an end Wednesday night as the Titans fell 7-1 to Olivet Nazarene in their first-ever appearance in the CCAC Tournament.

The Tigers jumped out quickly and built a 4-0 advantage in the opening nine minutes, but IU South Bend responded with a strong attacking sequence in the 11th.

Genevieve Smith combined with Olivia Enyeart on a give-and-go before Enyeart delivered a perfectly weighted lead pass into Smith's run. Smith cut toward goal and finished with her left foot to put the Titans on the board. The goal was Smith's seventh of the season.

Olivet Nazarene added three more goals in the second half to close out the 7-1 decision. Mikayla Saunders finished with eight saves in goal, while IU South Bend put five of its eight shots on target.

Wednesday's result brought an end to a 2026 campaign filled with program firsts. The Titans set new single-season records with five overall victories and four conference wins, while a three-match winning streak became the longest in program history. Each victory during that stretch came by five goals, with IU South Bend defeating Calumet 5-0, Mount Mary 5-0 and Governors State 6-1.

The season also included the program's first victories over Governors State and Judson. The win over Judson was especially significant, as IU South Bend also scored its first goal against the Eagles in six all-time meetings.

Most importantly, the Titans broke new ground by earning a spot in the CCAC Tournament for the first time in program history. The postseason appearance capped a season in which IU South Bend continued to raise the standard for the young program and established several new benchmarks for future teams to chase.

The IU South Bend squad graduates a pair of seniors including Yuritzi Alvarez and Aryanna Allen.
