Titans Celebrate Senior Day With Home Win Over Calumet

SOUTH BEND --- The veterans, Kyle Millender and Ethan Hill were honored on Senior Day in style Saturday afternoon. The IUSB Titans claimed victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph in a 98-88 showing inside the Student Activities Center.

The Titans (16-8, 11-5 CCAC) set the tone early, pouring in 55 first-half points to open a 10-point halftime lead. IU South Bend shot over 52 percent in the opening half, while hitting five triples. An 11-0 run that featured three-straight Hill layups helped build a cushion for IUSB.

Calumet stayed within reach in the second half, making key buckets throughout. IU South Bend always had an answer, never letting its lead drop below five. With two minutes left, the visitors made one last push pulling within five at 87-82 but Millender stepped up. CJ Hornbeak found the senior in the corner, as Millender knocked down a dagger three.

A key factor in the win was the Titans' depth. IU South Bend received 56 bench points, led by James Stevenson's 18 points, Kyle Millender's 14, and AJ Dunn's 13. The Titans also controlled the glass, finishing with a 43-38 rebounding advantage, and outscored Calumet 48-36 in the paint.

On Senior Day, Ethan Hill delivered a strong all-around performance, posting 11 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double while anchoring the interior on both ends. Fellow senior Kyle Millender provided a steady presence off the bench, scoring 14 points, dishing out five assists, and knocking down clutch shots to help fend off Calumet's rally attempts.

Mark White led the Titans with 19 points, while CJ Hornbeak chipped in seven and Collin Schmidt added eight, including key free throws late to seal the win.

IU South Bend will now begin a four-game roadstand to finish off the 2025-26 regular season, beginning at Holy Cross on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
