Having led the women’s tennis team through their inaugural season in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Jessica Simeri enters her fourth year as the head coach.
Jessica’s passion for tennis started as a little girl. Once Jessica reached Saint Joseph High School, she played #1 singles as a freshman. During her time, she was named four-time NIC Academic All-State, and was an All-State tennis selection both her junior and senior years. She served as team captain her junior year and helped lead the team to the state championship title, winning 5-0 in the finals.
After graduating from St. Joe, Jessica joined Purdue University’s Tennis On Campus (TOC) club team. Jessica took over the program as a sophomore and helped the team qualify for the NIRSA National Championship Tournament all four years. While at Purdue, Jessica received both the TOC Midwest Leader of the Year and TOC National Leader of the Year awards.
Jessica has been very active in the local tennis community. She has worked at the South Bend Racquet Club as an instructor for 4 years and helped start the South Bend Buddy Up Tennis Program for kids with Down syndrome.
Jessica still competes as a player in USTA leagues and tournaments, helping her 4.5 women’s team to Nationals in Arizona. She currently serves as a team captain for her 5.0 women’s team. She is the two-time defending South Bend Metro champion as well. Jessica and her husband, Nick, also competed in the US Open Midwest Sectional Qualifying Tournament and won their first round for mixed doubles.
