Hana Shigeki (HAH-nah shee-GEH-kee) joined Indiana University South Bend Sports Medicine team in July of 2026.
Hana earned her master’s degree in athletic training from Xavier University (2024-2026), where she gained diverse clinical experience, including women’s volleyball and club sports at the Division I level, tennis at the Division II level, and football at the junior college division. Hana also has experience at the high school level covering all sports. Â
She is a BOC certified athletic trainer, Licensed athletic trainer in the state of Indiana. She is an active member of the IATA , GLATA, and the NATA.
Originally from Japan, she is also a licensed physical therapist in Japan. In her free time, Hana enjoys taking solo trips (Europe, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia), cooking, visiting art museums, and going for walks and hikes.
