After being named the first head volleyball coach in IU South Bend history on May 14, 2010, Jamie Ashmore begins her first season on the sideline for the Titans as the program is set to open their inaugural season.
Prior to her move to IU South Bend, Ashmore served as an administrator for Dunes Volleyball Club in Rolling Prairie, IN. With Dunes, she was responsible for tryouts, camps, marketing materials, in addition to her coaching duties. On the court, Ashmore led the club's top 15U team to a first-place finish in the Bronze Division at the AAU Nationals in Orlando.
As a collegiate standout at Grand Valley State, Ashmore was a four-year starter, leading her team to the 2005 NCAA Division II National Championship as a freshman, and again deep in the NCAA Tournament as a junior and senior, reaching the Elite 8 and Final Four during those years, respectively. During the NCAA Championship season, she was named as a second team All-American. As a senior, she was also named first team All-Region and All-GLIAC and was chosen as the Most Valuable Player during the GLIAC conference tournament, a recognition she also garnered during her junior season. In all, her senior season saw her play in all 37 matches for the Lakers, including each of the teams' 136 games.
As a high school star at LaPorte High School, Ashmore was named team MVP twice and was a two-time Herald Argus Player of the Year. In addition, she earned all-state, all-area and Duneland Athletic Conference honors during her final two seasons with the Slicers. She currently holds school records in assists, service aces, set attempts and games played.
