Lauren Burish

Lauren Burish began her time at IU South Bend as a Certified Athletic Trainer for Indiana University South Bend Athletics in the summer of 2019.

Lauren currently serves on the NAIA-ATA Research and Professional Development Committee, is the Scholarship Committee Chair for the Indiana Athletic Trainers Association, and is the CCAC Board Representative on the NAIA-Athletic Trainers' Association. She is a member of the Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. Lauren is a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Indiana, a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and an instructor in Basic Life Support for the American Heart Association. She is also certified in massage cupping, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and QPR Suicide Prevention.

Lauren has been recognized with numerous professional accolades, including being named the 2021 Intercollegiate Council for Sports Medicine Staff Athletic Trainer of the Year, 2022 Henry Schein Athletic & Schools Rising Star Finalist, 2022-2023 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Athletic Trainer of the Year, 2022-2023 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Athletic Trainer of the Year, and most recently, one of Indiana University South Bend’s 2025 Top 25 Titans.

In addition to her role with IU South Bend Athletics, Lauren serves as an associate faculty member in the Vera Z. Dwyer College of Health Sciences, where she teaches Strength & Conditioning Methods, Ethics in Healthcare, and Introduction to Rehabilitation Sciences.

Lauren is also a dedicated community volunteer. She has been involved with the Lake City Skiers, a local nonprofit water ski show team, for over 17 years in various capacities. She currently serves on the executive planning and organizational committee for the 2027 World Water Ski Show Championship, a highly anticipated international event hosted by the Lake City Skiers.

Born and raised in Warsaw, IN, Lauren earned her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Studies from Benedictine University in 2016. During her four-year stint, Burish was a member of the Eagles basketball and track & field programs.

Following her undergraduate studies, Burish pursued and earned a Master of Athletic Training degree from Manchester University in the spring of 2018. As an athletic training student, in her second-year rotation at Manchester University, Burish covered the 2017 University of St. Francis (IN) NAIA National Championship football program.
