Indiana University South Bend

Mary Orr, a native of Fenton, Mich., was named Assistant Athletic Trainer at IU South Bend on Monday, Aug. 3 2020. 

Orr comes to IUSB after having worked at Louisiana State University of Alexandria as the Director of Sports Medicine and Performance and Head Athletic Trainer where she provided coverage for 200 NAIA DI athletes since July 2017. 

The Indiana licensed AT received her master's from Stephen F Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, where she served as a student assistant on the Lumberjacks training staff, working with SFA's women's basketball, baseball, football, cheerleading, and track & field teams. She also served an internship at Lufkin High School for eight of the school's sports, including football, soccer, basketball, baseball and softball. She also worked with other junior colleges and high schools in the area.

Orr is a board certified and Louisiana State Licensed Athletic Trainer, and holds a number of other certifications. She also holds memberships to the National, Southwest, & Louisiana Athletic Trainers' Associations. She received a Bachelor's in exercise science from Saginaw Valley State University in 2012, with her master's in Athletic Training from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2017.
