Box Score NOTRE DAME, Ind. – In a crosstown battle at Holy Cross College, Indiana University South Bend continued its undefeated season after defeating the Saints by a score of 52-46 on Wednesday evening. Under head coach Steve Bruce, the Titans are now 9-5 in their Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference openers and improve to 7-0 overall and 1-0 during league in play.

The Titans jumped out to an early 21-9 first quarter lead before Holy Cross pulled within three at the break with a 17-8 second quarter comeback. As a team, IUSB shot its best in the first half off 11-of-32 from the field but being held to just two threes.
In the third stanza, the Crimson & Cream once again outscored the Saints 15-11 until the fourth quarter became a defensive game. Both teams scored a combined 17 points as Holy Cross held the 9-8 advantage, but the Titans held on to remain perfect during the 2019-20 season.
Freshman guard Maddie Gard led all players with a game-high 12 points coming off the bench while freshman counterpart Emma Fisher nearly missed out on her first career double-double with eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
As a team, IUSB for the game shot a season-low 33.3 percent from the field as the Saints went just 25 percent on the night. The Titans had 20 turnovers to Holy Cross's 18. Off the bench the Crimson & Cream scored 36 points, improving its record to 7-0 when scoring over 20 points off the bench.
The Titans return home Saturday, Nov. 16 to host its second ranked opponent and CCAC foe of the season in Olivet Nazarene. Tip against the Tigers is scheduled for 1 p.m. inside the Student Activities Center.
