Wesley dropped a season-high 19 points off 7-of-8 shooting to go along with four rebounds to fuel the Titans to their tenth straight win as IUSB moved to 17-1 overall, 9-1 during Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play and 8-0 on the road.
Maddie Gard nearly missed out on a career-high by two points, scoring 17 while also adding five rebounds. Freshman and sister counterpart Katie Gard went 4-of-5 shooting on the night, becoming the third Titan to score in double figures with 11.
A tight first quarter saw IU South Bend score just a game-low 12 points as both teams were even heading into the second stanza. The Titans used a 11-0 run during the quarter to give a 32-25 advantage into the break.
With the help of the Gard twins and Wesley, IUSB kept GSU within striking distance in the second half to notch the Titans' eighth win on the road this season.
IU South Bend dominated the paint, outscoring the Jaguars 26-14, and owned a 33-6 lead in points off turnovers. Offensively, IUSB shot 56.6 percent from the floor while Governors State finished 19-of-37 (51.4 percent) from the field.
The Titans remain on the road, travelling to No. 20 Olivet Nazarene on Saturday, Jan. 11 in a rematch of this season's earlier contest as the Tigers handed IUSB its lone loss back on Nov. 16 by a score of 95-92 in South Bend. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. (EST) in Bourbonnais, Ill.
