Titans Head to Goshen Before the Holidays

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Indiana University South Bend women's basketball (3-0) travels to Goshen College on Saturday, December 19 at 3:00 p.m. for last its game before taking a break for the holidays.

The last time the Titans faced Goshen was back on Dec. 18, 2014 at the Ruth Gunden Gymnasium where they suffered their first loss to the Maple Leafs. Overall, IUSB hold a 9-1 record over Goshen with its largest margin of victory being a 75-42 win in 2012.

Last time out, the Titans had four players reach double figures in their 76-50 home opener win against IU Northwest. Sophomores Katie Gard and Maddie Gard led with 19 points and two steals each while Emma Fisher and Rachael Robards each added ten of their own. IU South Bend scored 25 points in the second and third quarter while holding the Redhawks to only 18 points in the first half.

With three games under their belt, the Crimson and Cream have multiple key contributors to their success. Scoring is led by M. Gard as she shoots 53.1 percent from the field averaging 14.7 ppg with Robards (13.0 ppg) and K. Gard (12.3 ppg) right behind her. Rebounding for the Titans is senior center Courtney Haynes, pulling down 9.7 rpg, doubling anyone else on the team. Fisher leads the team in steals with ten on the season and is tied with senior Taitlyn Trenshaw with eight assists.

The Titans return to the court on Wednesday, Feb. 3 when they welcome Roosevelt into the Student Activities Center for the first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference game of the season at 5:30 p.m.
