M. Gard led IU South Bend with a season-high 24 points on a 9-11 shooting night including three offensive rebounds and six steals. Juniors Rachael Robards and Sara Doi both added 14 points in the physical victory while senior Courtney Haynes pulled down a game-high of 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, Emma Fisher added eight points and a career-high of six steals.

IUSB started the game on fire, scoring nine points before forcing the Jaguars to call a timeout and adjust to the Titans flawless defense. Governors State put up 20 points on the scoreboard by the break but the Crimson and Cream did not let up, scoring 27 points in the second quarter leaving them comfortably ahead 45-20.

The Jaguars came out with a spark in the second, outscoring the Titans by one in the third quarter. That spark would quickly dwindled out as IUSB ramped up their defense collecting a game total of 14 steals and forcing the Jaguars into 28 turnovers. The Titans outscored Governors State in the fourth quarter with each player contributing in the 32-point road win.

IUSB held a commanding 41-28 advantage on the glass, dished out 20 assists and shot 45 percent from the field compared to Governors States 39 percent.
