GRANGER, Ind. - The Indiana University South Bend baseball team swept a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader against Trinity Christian Saturday, April 17, at Rex Weade Stadium.
The Titans topped the Trolls 14-7 in game one, and walked off with a 6-5 win in the night cap to improve to 16-18 overall and 12-7 in CCAC play.

Game One: IUSB 14, TCC 7
Five different Titans added two hits apiece, including Scott Stetz, Logan Young and Jake Vanderwoude who went 2-for-3. Nolan Unger led the Titans with three RBIs after finishing 2-for-4 with a run scored. For the third consecutive game, IUSB ripped double-digit hits with 13 that led to 14 runs.
Sophomore Robbie Berger turned in a quality start, throwing the first five innings on his way to his fourth win of the season. He scattered five hits and allowed two runs and struck out seven to finish off the win.
Trinity Christian took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but five Titan hits in the bottom half put IU South Bend on top 5-2 after one frame. After two scoreless innings, IUSB cranked out seven hits in the fourth that led to eight runs and a 13-2 advantage for the Crimson and Cream.
Young upped the IUSB lead to 14-2 with a run-scoring single, driving in pinch runner Nick Banks.
Trinity Christian cut the deficit in half with five runs in the seventh, but freshman Jackson Krueger put the finishing touches on the game by delivering a swinging strikeout.
Game Two: IUSB 6, TCC 5
IU South Bend was held to just five hits in the nightcap, led by a 3-for-4 effort from Vanderwoude. Young and Unger finished with the other two hits while Young and Colin Mack led the team with two RBIs apiece.
After eight innings, Young moved to the mound to earn his first victory of the season after tossing the final frame and delivering a strike out.
The Titans saw a 4-0 lead turn into a one-run game after a three-run fifth by the Trolls. After three scoreless frames, TCC took its first lead of the day after adding a pair of runs in the ninth off just one hit.
With two on and one out, Mack reached on a fielder's choice that scored pinch runner Connor Wise and eventually pinch runner Banks to score the game-winning run and seal the series sweep over Trinity Christian.
The Titans hit the road Tuesday, April 20 to conclude the three-game series with Trinity International with a single nine-inning game in Deerfield, Ill. that begins at 3 p.m. The two teams split the earlier doubleheader meeting back on March 23 in Granger, Ind.
