The Titans connected on its 17th double-digit hit performance of the season with 12 after the loss. Left fielder Jared Bais led the offense, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Junior transfer Scott Stetz drove in a team-high two RBIs while junior Colin Mack roped the only extra base hit.

IU South Bend used a search committee on the mound after starter Bryson Taylor finished his 6.1 performance that saw six runs off eight hits with five strike outs. Zack Dehn suffered the loss after one inning of work that gave up four runs. Matt Rose and Nolan Lorenz finished the final 1.2 innings on the mound.

Trailing by four after the third frame, the IU South Bend offense scattered runs in every inning after that including four in the seventh to take the 8-6 lead after seven frames of work.

Mack started the seventh with a lead off single to center and was driven home by a Logan Smith RBI single up the middle. Bais added an RBI single through the right side while pinch runner Nick Banks scored off a fielder's choice. The final run of the inning came off a Stetz RBI single to center. A ground out to the short stop ended the inning for the Titans.

The Lakers responded with a six-run inning of their own in the top half of the eighth off four hits and three crucial Titan errors, regaining the lead at 12-8. With runners on the corners in the bottom half, a Laker double play ended any sort of a Titan rally.

An RBI single through the left side added a Laker insurance run in the top of the ninth to help seal the victory and the sweep over IUSB in the three-game weekend series.

IU South Bend readies for a seven-game week to conclude the regular-season with a CCAC doubleheader at Lincoln College on Tuesday, April 27. The final road contests for the Titans are slated for Wednesday, April 28 at Judson before welcoming St. Ambrose on May 1 & 2 for a three-game weekend series.
