LAKEVILLE, Ind. - Goalkeeper
Kaitlin Paul made 14 saves, but the IU South Bend Titans struggled to match the pace of their opponents on Tuesday evening, falling at home to the Huntington (Ind.) Foresters 6-0 at Newton Park.
The Foresters (1-0) struck early, finding the back of the net just 68 seconds into regulation. From there, four more goals in the first half gave Huntington a 5-0 lead at the break, with another score in the 59th minute to close out the scoring in the match.
Indiana South Bend (0-2) had chances in the offensive end as well;
Rebekahha Guess fired a shot in the 30th minute that was stopped by the Huntington keeper, and in the 79th minute,
Reyna Cruz's attempt was saved to keep the Titans off the scoreboard.Â
The Titans will close out the non-conference portion of the season on Saturday, September 4, when they travel to face Saint Francis (Ind.). Kickoff from Fort Wayne is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
