OAKLAND CITY, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (6-0, 1-0 CCAC) defeated Oakland City University (4-2, 0-0 RSC) by a score of 87-82. Saturday's victory keeps the Titans undefeated, extending their winning streak to six games to begin the season.
IU South Bend was led by center Tia Chambers who scored a team high 21 points and also secured a team high seven rebounds in the five point victory.
Maddie Gard and Sara Doi were next in line in scoring, both finishing with 15 points. Gard's 15 points came on 6-11 shooting from the field while also hauling in six rebounds, three on offense and three on defense. Doi saw all 15 of her points come from behind the three point line, where she shot 5-8 on three point attempts.
The last IU South Bend Titan to finish in double figures was
Rachael Robards who finished with 11 points, including three baskets from beyond the three point line.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, November 16th, when they take on Saint Xavier University, the reigning CCAC Champions at 5:30 in the Student Activities Center.
