Season high from Sara Doi leads Titans past Governors State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (8-0, 3-0 CCAC) defeated the Governors State Jaguars (2-6, 1-3 CCAC) by a score of 89-69. Tuesday's victory leaves the Titans as one of the three remaining undefeated teams in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Sara Doi led the Titans in scoring with a season high of 17 points on better than 65% shooting from the field, as well as 4-6 from beyond the three point line. Doi played in all but eight minutes of Tuesday's contest, recording five assists and four steals in the process.

Maddie Gard tallied the first double-double of the season for IU South Bend, finishing with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Gard's 13 boards is a new season high for all Titans. Gard also finished with four assists and two steals.

Emma Fisher continued to facilitate the offense as she finished just shy of double-double status yet again, scoring eight points and dishing out eight assists in the twenty point victory.

Coming off of her 26 point performance, Katie Gard picked up right where she left off, scoring 15 points on 50% shooting from the field as well as 3-4 from the three point line. Gard also tallied seven assists, five rebounds, and three steals in the Tuesday night contest.

Other Titans in double figures included Jazmen Watts with 11 points, shooting a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line. Rachael Robards finished with 10 points, this marks the sixth time this season Robards has finished with double digits in the scoring column. Her 10 points on Tuesday leaves her just 55 points shy of 1,000 career points as an IU South Bend Titan.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, November 30th, as they return home to the Student Activities Center to take on Miami University Hamilton at 5:30 PM.
