Titans rally from 18 down to defeat IU Northwest

GARY, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (7-4, 5-1 CCAC) defeated the Indiana University Northwest RedHawks (4-7, 3-2 CCAC) by a score of 84-69. Saturday's victory improves the Titans winning streak to a season high of four games. On that streak, the Titans have won each game by at least 15 points including a 30 point victory over Trinity Christian. 

The Titans offense featured three players reach double figures in the contest, led by Dejon Barney who scored a season high 26 points. Barney shot an efficient 11-15 from the field as well as securing seven rebounds and stealing three passes in just 25 minutes of action. 

Next in line in scoring was Donyell Meredith II who finished Saturday's contest two rebounds shy of a double-double, tallying 22 points and eight rebounds. Meredith II led the Titans in minutes played, playing 35 of the 40 minutes of the contest. 

The third Titan to reach double figures was Micah Poole who finished with 16 points, three assists, and three steals. Poole shot an impressive 7-10 from the field while knocking down two three point field goals, his fourth consecutive game with at least two three pointers made. 

Down by as many as 18 points in the first half, the Titans found themselves heading into halftime down 10 points. Double digit second halves from Donyell Meredith II, Dejon Barney, and Micah Poole helped IU South Bend outscore the RedHawks by 25 points in the second half and ultimately win the game 84-69. 

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Saturday, December 17th, when they take on the Judson University Eagles at 3:00 in the Student Activities Center.
