Dejon Barney breaks single game record for points as IUSB defeats Judson

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (8-4, 6-1 CCAC) defeated the Judson University Eagles (4-9, 3-4 CCAC) by a score of 85-71. Saturday's victory marks five consecutive wins for the Titans, who now find themselves in a four-way tie for first place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

IU South Bend was led by junior forward Dejon Barney who finished with 38 points in Saturday's contest. Barney's 38 points breaks an IUSB record for points in a game, which was previously 36, last reached by Avery Harmon on December 17th, 2016.

Barney also set team highs in field goals made with 14 and in blocks with five, while knocking down a personal best four three point field goals in Saturday's victory.

Donyell Meredith II reached double figures with 15 points on 5-8 shooting from the field including 2-3 from beyond the three point line. Meredith II nearly reached a double-double as he finished with eight rebounds and even flirted with triple-double status by finishing with a season high six steals.

With 15 points on Saturday, Donyell Meredith II has now reached at least 15 points in five straight games and double figures in all but one game of the season.

Guard Micah Poole continued his stellar play, recording 13 points on 60% shooting from the field while also tallying three steals and two assists. Poole's 13 points in the win over Judson marks six consecutive games that he has reached double figures, as well as eight out of twelve on the season.

A 14 point victory on Saturday improves the Titans record to eight wins and four losses, all eight wins coming by at least double digits.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Tuesday, December 20th, when they take on Holy Cross College for the second time this season. IU South Bend won the first meeting between the two by a score of 72-58.
