SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (9-4, 7-1 CCAC) defeated the Holy Cross College Saints (5-9, 2-6 CCAC) by a score of 87-68. Tuesday's victory extends the IU South Bend winning streak to six games and for the moment, puts them in a tie with Saint Xavier for first place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The Titans leading scorer was senior guard
Kenny Washington, who finished with 21 points, just three short of his season high. Washington shot 7-9 from both the field and the free throw line while also recording five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 30 minutes of play, which lead all Titans.Â
Micah Poole and
Donyell Meredith II both finished with 17 points in 26 minutes of playing time. Poole's 17 points came on 70% shooting from the field in a game where he also collected three rebounds, dished out three assists, and had two steals. 17 points from Meredith II came via 75% shooting from the field while also knocking down three of his five attempts from beyond the arc.
Donyell Meredith II also recorded five rebounds, four assists, and two steals in Tuesday's contest.Â
Junior guard
Sam Snodgrass found himself in double digits in the scoring column for the second time this season, finishing with 12 points. Snodgrass also finished with two rebounds, a block, an assist, and a steal in the 19 point victory.Â
The last Titan to reach double digits was junior forward
Dejon Barney, who finished with 10 points and six rebounds. Tuesday marks the seventh time that Barney has finished with double digits in just nine games played this season.Â
The Indiana University South Bend Titans will enjoy a day week break from play before they return to action on Wednesday, January 4th, when they take on the Roosevelt University Lakers at 7:30 PM in the Student Activities Center.Â
