SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (10-0, 4-0 CCAC) defeated Trinity Christian College (4-5, 3-3 CCAC) by a score of 89-43. Saturday's win keeps the Titans undefeated, one of only two teams in the CCAC without a conference loss.
The IU South Bend Titans offense was led by
Katie Gard and
Tia Chambers who both finished with 17 points. Gard finished shooting 6-13 from the field as well as a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. Chambers secured six rebounds to go along with her 17 points.
Rachael Robards was next in line, scoring 16 points in only 19 minutes of action while only missing one shot the entire contest. 16 points from Robards leaves her just 39 points shy of surpassing 1,000 points in her career at IU South Bend.
Maddie Gard was the last Titan to reach double figures, finishing with 13 points on 5-6 shooting from the field while also securing four rebounds and dishing out three assists.
IU South Bend jumped out to an early 19-5 lead and never looked back, as they outscored the Trolls by double digits in three of four quarters. A swarming Titans defense held Trinity Christian to just four points in the fourth quarter in route to the 46 point victory.
Indiana University South Bend returns to action on Wednesday, December 7th, when they take on the University of Saint Francis Saints, at 5:30 PM in the Student Activities Center.
