The Indiana University South Bend Titans (13-5, 10-2 CCAC) defeated the Governors State Jaguars (5-15, 5-7 CCAC) by a score of 88-76. Saturday's win extends the Titans winning streak to three games and makes them winners in 10 of their last 11 games.
IU South Bend was led in scoring by
Dejon Barney who finished with 22 points and six rebounds. Barney's 22 points marks his third straight game with at least 20 points and boosts his season average to 16.5 points per game.
Next in line in scoring for the Titans was
Donyell Meredith II who tallied 18 points while playing 33 of the 40 minutes in Saturday's contest. Meredith II also hauled in six rebounds and dished out four assists in the win over the Jaguars.
Other Titans to reach double figures included
Kenny Washington who scored 11 points on 50% shooting from the field and
Spencer Pettit who finished with 12 points thanks to 4-6 shooting from beyond the arc.
Senior forward
Miles Tracy flirted with triple-double status, scoring nine points while also securing seven rebounds and dishing out seven assists.
IU South Bend outscored Governors State by six points in each half while forcing 18 Jaguar turnovers that led to 15 points.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, January 18th, when they travel to Joliet, Ill., to square off with the Saint Francis Saints at 8:30 PM ET.
