Titans win 2OT thriller over Saint Francis

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (8-3,4-0 CCAC) defeated the University of Saint Francis Fighting Saints (2-5, 1-3 CCAC) in double overtime by a final score of 82-76.

Knotted at 68-68 with 10 seconds to play in regulation, IU South Bend clawed their way into overtime after a missed Saint Francis jump shot concluded the first 40 minutes.

Both teams traded baskets in the first overtime with the Titans getting a look to win the game with eight seconds remaining but could not convert.

Double overtime saw the Titans hold Saint Francis to zero points as IU South Bend sealed the victory by a final score of 82-76.

A well balanced IU South Bend offense featured five different players to record double figures, led by junior guard Quentez Columbus who finished with a game high 22 points.

Columbus' 22 points came on eight out of ten shooting from the free throw line for his fourth 20 point game this season.

Other Titans to record double figures included Micah Poole who finished with 13 points, Dejon Barney and Terry Ford who finished with 12 points, and Jylen Petty who finished with 11 points.

Junior forward Jylen Petty finished with his second double-double of the season, recording 11 points and securing 10 rebounds.

Senior forward Dejon Barney finished just one rebound shy of double-double status while senior guard Terry Ford finished two rebounds shy of a double-double in his second double digit scoring performance of the season.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Saturday, December 16th, when they travel to University Park, Ill. to take on the Jaguars of Governors State University at 4:00 PM ET.
