SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (17-7, 12-4 CCAC) defeated the Cardinal Stritch University Wolves (1-24, 1-16 CCAC) by a score of 76-69. Saturday's win makes the Titans winners in four of their last five games.
Before tip off, seniors
Miles Tracy,
Donyell Meredith II, and
Micah Poole were honored for their roles in making the last four years the winningest four year stretch in the history of IU South Bend Men's Basketball.
Down by two at halftime, IU South Bend outscored Cardinal Stritch 43-34 on their way to a 76-69 victory.
The Titans were led by senior guard
Kenny Washington who finished with 18 points on 75 percent shooting from the field. With 18 points on Saturday, Washington now finds himself just 80 points away from surpassing 1,000 career points as a Titan.
Next in line in scoring for IU South Bend was junior forward
Dejon Barney with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks. Barney has now registered double-doubles in three of his last five games.
The final titan to reach double figures was
Spencer Pettit who finished with 14 points on better than 50 percent shooting from the field. With 14 points in Saturday's victory, Pettit has scored double digits in seven different games this season.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, February 8th, when they host the Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) Crimson Wave at 7:30 PM in the Student Activities Center.
