Titans fall to Indiana Wesleyan 10-8 on walk-off home run

MARION, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (4-13, 0-0 CCAC) fell to the Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats (4-7-1, 0-0 CRL) by a score of 10-8. 

A Kole Miller first inning home run gave IU South Bend a 1-0 lead through one inning of play. 

Indiana Wesleyan plated seven runs on seven hits including a three run home run by first baseman Lucas Goodin to give the Wildcats a 7-1 lead through two innings. 

A third inning RBI groundout from Drew Barber and a sixth inning sacrifice fly from Gabe Cortez brought the Titans withing striking distance, trailing IWU 7-3 going into the bottom of the sixth. 

An insurance RBI single by Indiana Wesleyan first baseman Lucas Goodin stretched the Wildcats lead to 8-3 through six innings of play. 

Kaleb Farnham slugged his third home run of the season, a three run home run that brought the Titans within two, trailing 8-6. 

A Gabe Cortez double scored Drew Barber to bring IU South Bend within one run. 

In the top of the eighth inning, Brett Sikorski hit his third home run in his last two games to tie the game at 8-8. 

IU South Bend did not plate a run in the ninth inning and lost Wednesday's contest 10-8 due to a two run walk-off homerun by Indiana Wesleyan center fielder Jeff Morton.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Saturday, March 11th, when they square off with the University of Michigan-Dearborn at 1:00 PM.
