FORT WAYNE, Ind.- The IU South Bend Titans found themselves on the losing end of a Friday doubleheader. In the first match, the Titans were bested by the Warriors of Indiana Tech University 23-25, 22-25, 26-24. Unable to bounce back, IU South Bend lost the back end of the doubleheader to the Taylor University Trojans, 23-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-25.
Game 1
Outside hitters
Abigail Seeger and
Macy Sherman led the IU South Bend offense with 9 kills a piece while junior
Ryleigh Grott finished with six kills in the Titans game one loss.
Sophomore setter
Emma Knowlton led the Titans passing game with 28 assists in game one.
Underclassmen
Sydney Hanna and
Taylor Hostetler led the IU South Bend defense in digs, with Hanna finishing with 14 digs while Hostetler finished just behind with 13 digs.
Game 2
Game two saw IU South Bend win their first set of the 2023 campaign as the Titans took set two by a score of 25-18.
The IU South Bend offense was led by
Taylor Hostetler who finished with 11 kills,
Abigail Seeger who finished with 10 kills, and
Alexis Joyner who finished with seven kills.
Sophomore setter
Emma Knowlton shined again in the passing game, finishing game two with 36 assists.
Alexis Joyner and
Abigail Seeger led the defense in game two, both finsihing with six blocks.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action tomorrow in another doubleheader, facing Lawrence Tech University at 1:15 followed by a 5:30 PM matchup against Huntington University.
