Titans fall in doubleheader to conclude Onset Invitational

FORT WAYNE, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (0-4, 0-0 CCAC) dropped both games of a doubleheader to wrap up the Onset Invitational hosted by the University of Saint Francis (Ind.). IU South Bend fell in game one at the hands of Lawrence Tech University by scores of 18-25, 9-25, 12-25. Game two saw the Titans lose in four sets to the Foresters of Huntington University by scores of 25-20, 22-25, 23-25, 17-25. 

Game 1

Offensively, the IU South Bend Titans were led by outside hitter Alexis Joyner who finished with seven kills, Macy Sherman who finished with six kills, and Abigail Seeger who finished with five kills. 

Emma Knowlton led the IU South Bend passing game with 19 assists in game one. 

Defensively, Abigail Seeger finished with four blocks while Emma Knowlton and Macy Sherman both finished with two blocks. Sydney Hanna and Emma Knowlton concluded game one with double-digit digs. 

Game 2

Senior outside hitter Abigail Seeger led the IU South Bend attack in game two finishing with 10 kills while Alexis Joyner and Macy Sherman both finished game two with nine kills. 

Sophomore setter Emma Knowlton tallied her second game this season with at least 30 assists while also adding three aces in game two. 

Defensively, senior Felisha Campanello finished the game with three blocks while defensive specialist Sydney Hanna led the defense with 14 digs. 

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Thursday, August 31st, when they begin CCAC play on the road against the Cougars of Saint Xavier University at 8:00 PM ET in Chicago, Ill.
