GARY, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (12-6, 7-3 CCAC) fell to the Indiana University Northwest RedHawks (8-9, 5-4 CCAC) by a final score of 77-61.
Saturday's marks the third conference loss for the Titans and drops them to a tie for third place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Trading baskets throughout the first half, a late
Jylen Petty made field goal cut the Titans deficit to just two points heading into halftime.
IU Northwest outscored IUSB by 14 points in the second half to go on to take a 77-61 victory over IU South Bend.
The IU South Bend offense featured three players to score in double figures, led by senior forward
Dejon Barney who finished with 16 points.
Barney's 16 points came on better than 60% shooting from the field while also securing nine rebounds, falling one board short of his ninth double-double of the season.
The next Titan to score in double figures was forward
Nick Mullen who finished with 15 points.
Mullen's career high 15 points came on better than 50% shooting from the field (6-11) while also knocking down three three pointers in just 21 minutes of action.
The last Titan to record double figures in the scoring column was junior guard
Quentez Columbus who finished with 13 points.
Columbus' 13 points came on almost 50% shooting from the field (5-11) while knocking down two three point field goals and hauling in four rebounds.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, January 24th, when they host Holy Cross College at 7:30 in the Student Activities Center.
