Barney's 9th double-double leads Titans to victory 65-55 over Holy Cross

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (13-6,8-3 CCAC) defeated the Holy Cross College Saints (7-12,2-9 CCAC) by a final score of 65-55.

With a win on Wednesday and help from other members of the CCAC, IU South Bend moves back into a tie for second place in conference.

Trading baskets throughout the duration of the first half, a made free throw by forward Dejon Barney helped knot Wednesday's conference affair at 25-25 heading into halftime.

The game remained neck and neck through most of the second half, with Holy Cross taking a one point lead with just more than six minutes to play.

IU South Bend ended the game on a 20-9 run to go on to take a 65-55 victory over the Saints of Holy Cross College.

The second straight low scoring affair in the season series saw just two Titans score in double figures, led by senior forward Dejon Barney who finished with a game high 24 points.

Barney's 24 points came on better than 60% shooting from the field (10-16) while also recording 11 rebounds, good for his ninth double-double of the season.

The other Titan to record double figures in the scoring column was senior guard Terry Ford who finished with 11 points.

Ford's 11 points came on 80% shooting from the field while missing just one field goal attempt and knocking down all three free throws that he attempted.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Saturday, January 27th, when they travel to Palos Heights, Ill., to take on the Trolls of Trinity Christian College at 4:00 PM ET.
