PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (14-6, 9-3 CCAC) defeated the Trinity Christian College Trolls (4-14, 0-11 CCAC) by a final score of 77-67.
Saturday's win marks back to back victories for the Titans and keeps them in sole possession of second place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Leading 19-18 with just over eight minutes to play in the first half, the IU South Bend Titans went on a 19-9 run to extend their lead to double digits.
A dunk in the final seconds of the first half by senior forward
Dejon Barney allowed the Titans to take a 42-34 lead heading into the locker room for halftime.
Trinity Christian cut the IUSB lead to just two points with under five minutes to play before the Titans closed out the game on an 18-10 run to defeat the Trolls by a final score of 77-67.
The IU South Bend offense featured two players to score in double figures, led by forward
Dejon Barney who finished with 32 points in Saturday's win.
Barney's season high 32 points came on 65% shooting from the field (13-20) while knocking down all six free throws that he attempted.
Barney also hauled in 20 rebounds on Saturday, breaking the IUSB Men's Basketball program record for offensive rebounds in a game with 14 and falling just two rebounds short of breaking his own record for total rebounds in a game.
The other Titan to score in double figures was forward
Jylen Petty who finished with 14 points.
Petty's 14 points came on 40% shooting from the field while also knocking down five of the seven free throws that he attempted.
With 14 points in Saturday's win, Petty has now scored in double figures in 11 games this season.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, January 31st, when they travel to Joliet, Ill., to take on the Fighting Saints of Saint Francis at 8:00 PM ET.
