Titans improve to 4-0 with 20 point win over Bethel

MISHAWAKA, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (4-0, 0-0 CCAC) defeated the Bethel University Pilots (3-2, 0-0 Conf.) by a final score of 82-62 to extend their season opening winning streak to four straight games.

IU South Bend scored the first six points of Wednesday's contest before the Pilots came back in the first quarter to take an 11-10 lead just under halfway through the period. The Titans then closed out the quarter on a 13-6 run to head into the second quarter leading 23-17.

The second and third quarters proved to be all Titans as they more than doubled the Pilots score while holding Bethel to just 10 points in the second quarter and eight points in the third quarter to take a 66-35 lead heading into the final period.

The Pilots outscored IUSB by nine in the fourth quarter but it was still not enough as the Titans went on to win by a final score of 82-62.

A well balanced IU South Bend offense saw 11 of the 12 players to step on the floor score at least one point while being lead by freshman guard Keylee Hudson who finished with a season high 24 points.

Hudson's 24 points came on just one missed field goal (9-10) while also knocking down two of the three triples that she attempted all in just 22 minutes of playing time.

Another Titan to reach double figures was Tenleigh Phelps who finished with 13 points. Phelps' 13 points brings her average to just under 20 points per game, putting her in the top five in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference,

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Saturday, November 16th, when they host the Trojans of Taylor University at 1:00 PM ET in the Student Activities Center.
