SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (20-8, 15-5 CCAC) defeated the Judson University Eagles (12-16, 9-11 CCAC) by a final score of 94-67.
Saturday's win leaves the Titans in a three-way tie for second place in the CCAC, but losing the tiebreaker to Olivet Nazarene and Indiana University Northwest leaves the Titans as the #4 seed as they gear up for the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
16 lead changes throughout the first half saw IUSB ahead by just one point before the Titans closed out the half on an 11-5 run to take a seven point lead heading into halftime.
The second half saw IU South Bend run away with Saturday's CCAC affair, outscoring the Eagles by 20 points to finish with a 27 point victory.
All but one IUSB starter scored in double figures, led by senior forward
Dejon Barney who finished with a game high 22 points.
Barney's 22 points came on just three missed field goals (8-11) while tying a season high in free throw percentage (6-6).
Other notable Titan scorers included
Micah Poole,
Terry Ford and
Nick Mullen who all finished with 13 points.
The trio all shot better than 50% from the field including three made three point field goals from
Micah Poole.
The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, February 28th, when they begin the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament by hosting the Saint Xavier Cougars at 7:00 PM ET in the Student Activities Center.
