SOUTH BEND, Ind.- On Monday, April 1st, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced their selections for the 2023-2024 Women's Basketball NAIA All American Teams.
Indiana University South Bend Titans junior guard
Tenleigh Phelps was honored as an NAIA Third Team All American selection.
In her first season in a Titan uniform, Phelps led IU South Bend in scoring at 19.6 points per game, in rebounding at 7.8 rebounds per game, and field goal percentage at 59.3% shooting from the field all while helping lead the Titans to a CCAC Regular Season Championship, a CCAC Tournament Championship, and an NAIA National Tournament First Round victory.
Phelps' record breaking season saw her break single season program records for most points with 646, most made field goals with 237, while finishing second in single season history with 142 made free throws and 258 rebounds.
In addition to her single season records, Phelps broke the IUSB record for most points in a single game by scoring 42 points in a win over St. Francis on December 9th and also broke the record for most rebounds in a single game by securing 19 rebounds in a win over Holy Cross on January 24th.
The 1st Team All CCAC and three time CCAC Player of the Week selection helped lead IU South Bend to their winningest season in school history, finishing with a 31-2 overall record. With Phelps set to return in the 2024-2025 season, she and the Titans are poised for another successful campaign.
